Will Ferrell’s Eurovision on Netflix: Release Date, Cast, Updates

Eurovision won’t be coming back in 2020, but to bridge the gap this year, Will Ferrell will be starring in and writing a Netflix comedy film, set during the annual contest of the show, from the director of Wedding Crashers.

Let’s take a look at the Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.

1. Eurovision Release Date

Initially announced in June 2018, shooting for the film continued throughout 2019 and Will Ferell was even seen researching for the film at the 2018 contest finals.

2. Eurovision Plot

The plot follows Icelandic musicians Lars and Sigrit, who have been given a chance to represent their nation at the Eurovision Song Contest.

It is set in 1972 (16 years before Iceland actually participated in the competition) and is a comedy written by Will Ferrell and Andrew Steele. Will Ferrell hasn’t written a lot of scripts, though. This movie might turn out to be a little wacky, but let’s wait until a trailer comes out.

3. Eurovision Cast

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga will be featuring a star-studded cast with Will Ferrell (Lars Erickssong) and Rachel McAdams (Sigrit Ericksdottir) playing as the contestants from Iceland. They will be joined by Pierce Brosnan, Dan Stevens, and Demi Lovato. Exciting!
