Ruin Reawakened (Svarog) Location & How to Beat it – Final Fantasy 16

Svarog in Final Fantasy 16 is a monstrous S-Rank Notorious Mark and it’s tied to the Ruin Reawakened bounty. To defeat it, you first need to find it. The game doesn’t offer many clues as to where it’s located, and you might get lost but to make things easier, the exact location of the beast will be mentioned below.

Svarog is located far South of Mornebrume and Glorieuse, in the southeast part of The Holy Empire of Sanbreque. The beast will be located inside an arena. To get there, simply fast travel to the Caer Norvent Glorieuse Gate Obelisk and go southeast from there.

To unlock the bounty hunt, you’ll first need to get to the main quest, “Fire in the Sky”. After getting there, head to Nektar and take up the Ruin Reawakened bounty. You can now go hunt for the monstrous dragon.

Remember, it’s one of the hardest S-Rank Notorious Marks, so I recommend you fight this beast only if you’re level 50; otherwise, it could end in a bloodbath, and I’m sure nobody wants that. If you’re level 50 and are ready to take on the beast, then read on to find out how to beat it.

Svarog will use powerful fire attacks that can be hard to dodge. Its strongest attack can one shot Clive, so be sure to stock up on health potions. Precision Dodge is your best friend in this fight, so timing it perfectly is crucial.

Here are all the moves that you need to look out for and their counter while fighting Svarog:

Move ListCounter
Laser Beam: Svarog will shoot a laser beam from the center of the arena towards you (can be horizontal or vertical), which explodes.Dodge it or avoid it entirely by simply moving away from it.
Fire Breath: Svarog will shoot out 2-3 fireballs that explode as soon as they reach your position.Move to the side as the fireballs follow you until they explode.
Swipe/Spin: Svarog will swipe its head or neck or do a 360-degree spin if you get too close.Dodge the attack or roll under it, as it’ll only attack in this manner when you get too close.
Headbutt: Svarog will raise its head and strike you with his snout.Sidestep as soon as you see the creature raising its head. Keep sidestepping just to be safe.
Flaming Spin: Svaorg will jump in the air, engulf itself in flames, and then spin in your direction. It’s a quick attack, so sidestep as soon as you see the beast spinning.
Blazing Legion: Svarog will lift its head and wave it to create an arena of fireballs that deal contact damage. There will be long gaps in between the fireballs, so step in between them.
Red Dawn: Svarog will roar and create two fire pillars that converge into one. The convergent pillar then moves in a straight line.Sidestep the pillars and stay away from the convergent pillar to avoid damage.
Embroil: Svarog will hover in the air and shoot a blue laser (which doesn’t deal damage), and wherever the blue laser falls, a fireball drops from the sky. After that, orange spots appear on the ground, which explode.Be mobile on the battlefield, and keep moving away from the blue laser to avoid the fireball. The orange spots have gaps in between them, so you’ll need to see where they are and step in between them.
Dragon Dance: Svarog will roar loudly and perform the following attacks: Fire Breath, Vertical and Horizontal Laser Beams, and Flaming Spin.Dodge each of the moves using their individual counters and be as mobile as possible in the arena.
Last Dance: Svarog will roar loudly, breathe fire into the air, and perform the following moves: Blazing Legion, Embroil (twice), Red Dawn (twice), Laser Beam (horizontal), and Flaming Spin.Dodge all the attacks using their individual counters and do so quickly, as all the attacks will happen in quick succession.

Unleash all your Eikonic abilities whenever you get a chance to stagger the beast and deliver all your combos when it is vulnerable. It won’t be an easy fight, but if you counter all its moves correctly while losing minimum health, you’ll be able to win without breaking much sweat.
