If you ever watched The Eighth Wonder of the Sinnoh World! in Pokemon the Series: Diamond and Pearl, you might remember the epic battle between Volkner and Ash.
Ash returned to the Sunyshore Gym for his rematch with Volkner for the Beacon Badge—the final Gym Badge he needs to enter the Sinnoh League. In a showdown of Pokemons, Volker accepts his defeat as Ash leaves the room a winner.
The staff for the Pokemon Journeys: The Series anime revealed that the character Volkner, the strongest gym leader in the Shinou region, will appear in the 77th episode of the series, airing on August 20th, 2021.
This will be the character’s first appearance in a Pokemon series in 11 years since the Pokemon – Diamond and Pearl anime, which was broadcast from 2006 to 2010.
If you didn’t guess already, Hirofumi Nojima will be returning to voice the character of Volkner!
The episode will be titled “Super Electromagnetic Hyper Class Battle!” and marks 1162 episodes of the Pokemon anime.
In the upcoming episode, we will see Volkner fight Satoshi at the Pokemon World Championships.
Given this much-beloved character’s reputation for strength and determination, I can’t wait to see how the fight unravels.
