The plot of Vinland Saga takes place at the height of the Vikings’ supremacy in Europe, recounting King Cnut the Great’s ascension to the English throne and the establishment of his North Sea Empire.

Meanwhile, Thorfinn, an Icelandic adventurer, serves under a squad of mercenaries responsible for his father’s murder with the sole intention of exacting his revenge on them. But Thorfinn’s actual ambition is to sail over the sea and discover Vinland’s paradise.

When is Vinland Saga season 2 coming to Netflix?

We initially thought that fans would have to wait up to three years to watch the second installment of Vinland Saga on Netflix. We couldn’t be happier to be mistaken.

Updates on the anime’s official website announced and verified that Vinland Saga season 2 would be available on Netflix globally, except in China.

It has also been revealed that the series will be accessible to watch on Crunchyroll globally, except for Asia. This implies that in the United States, Netflix and Crunchyroll will share streaming rights. Season 2 of Vinland Saga premieres in Japan on January 9th, 2023.

However, it is unknown when Vinland Saga episodes will be available on Netflix, given the streaming site has never broadcast anime outside of Asia. Previously, all the weekly anime series licensed by Netflix had a brief wait ranging from a few days to a few weeks.

This also implies that Crunchyroll may receive episodes before Netflix due to simulcasting. However, we’re still waiting for Netflix to reveal the precise release date for Vinland Saga season 2

What about the English Dub?

According to the wiki, Netflix holds the streaming rights to VSI’s English version of the anime.

This means if VSI provides an English version soon after the Japanese broadcast, the English dub may appear later in the year. However, we must wait for formal confirmation from Netflix and Studio Mappa for the time being.

Expected Plot

Season 2 of Vinland Saga will adapt the manga’s Farm Arc or Ketil’s Farm Arc. Ketil is a wealthy farmer who cares for his slaves. After Askeladd’s death, he works on Ketil’s farm.
