Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 8 Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

The backstory of our farm master is finally discovered in episode 7 of Vinland Saga season 2, titled “Iron Fist Ketil.”

Now a humble and modest farm owner with plenty of lands, Stergil reveals that his father was none other than a legend back in the olden days. He would fight and plunder ships with his bare hands and easily take out enemies, his name going down in history.

However, the older man’s sympathy is apparent when two young children are found thieving from the farm master. In a family without a father, the child must resort to theft and face its consequences.

Episode 8 Speculation

Sture and Thora will begin working on the farm next episode, and we will also likely see Sture’s injuries from the beatings he got. Luckily it was Ketil who beat him instead of Stergil, or he may not have been alive to see the light of day.

Thorfinn and Einar may also be involved in whatever happens with them and possibly even get into some fight with Stergil, who has caused nothing but problems ever since arriving on the farm.

Recap of Episode 7

Another theft has happened under Snake’s eye while the master is out of town, and he prepares to take action and show them who’s boss finally. Einar and Thorfinn have grown much older, and they’re beginning to get used to their time on the farm.

Arnheid gets called from her talk with Einar, and he rejoices that he got a compliment from her, but she gets punished for wasting time. An older Thorfinn looks upon the wheat field and wonders if something this small can eventually become bread.

Einar kneels on the floor and begins praying to God that the field is blessed and a successful harvest comes to them, with plenty of rain and a good yield. Thorfinn is forced to join him, and they pray for their success.

Thorgil comes to the field and talks of Canute and even suggests that Olmar be sent to the battlefield, but Ketil laughs. He reunites with Snake, who has captured the thieves of the farm; two children stand tied right behind him.

They tremble in fear as Stergil catches up with Ketil and his family, and he even invites Olmar to the war and gives him a souvenir necklace made of the ears of Englishmen. He lunges back in fear, and Stergil laughs at his cowardice.

Ketil asks them about their names and family; and learns that Sture and Thora are from a low-income family and are generally well off, but the death of their father has caused them to resort to stealing.

Stergil says that the price is simple, they’ll cut off one arm of the thieves, but Ketil does not want to go to such harsh extents. Luckily for him, Pater gives him an alternative and says that he should hire them instead and have them pay off through labor.

He also adds that a beating would be an appropriate beating as well, but everyone around them says that it would make them look soft if they let them off with no punishment. Ketil hesitantly agrees to let him hit them ten times.

Stergil volunteers to hit them instead, and a single blow sends him flying. Ketil takes the bat from him and delivers the punishment instead. Ketil sleeps thinking of the incident and reveals that war and violence are something he is most afraid of.
