Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 1 Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

Season 2 of Vinland Saga is an upcoming sequel to the action/adventure manga written by Makoto Yukimura and published by Kodansha in 2005.

The story revolves around our young protagonist Thorfinn’s journey through the Viking times with a desire for vengeance for his father’s murder. The voyage that starts with rage and gruesome killing incorporates a sense of growth in Thorfinn’s maturity and understanding of the world and his father’s philosophies.

After three long years, the actual story of Vinland Saga finally kicks off as season 1 was nothing more of a prologue showing young Thorfinn’s rage. Still, now that MAPPA is adapting the sequel, we can expect a lot more action and character development for our young Vikings.

Episode 1 Speculation

The trailer shows us a little action but a lot more dialogue and flashbacks to Thorfinn’s past. This season will likely focus more on his self-discovery and attempt to understand his father’s way of life instead of his search for vengeance now that he’s grown in maturity and age.

There are likely many more new characters yet to be introduced, as Thorkell is shown to be talking to many new casts, and King Canute’s return is also teased. The episode will likely begin with an insight into Thorfinn’s new life after Askeladd’s death and some introductions to the further necessary cast.
