Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Ep 1: Release Date, Speculations, Watch Online

Lum and her “darling” are back with another season of nonsense drama and misunderstandings in Urusei Yatsura Season 2.

Fans have been enjoying the remake of this iconic manga, and it is back with more of the silly, slapstick comedy. Lum and Ataru will get involved in more bizarre situations and gradually grow closer to each other. 

Some new, annoying, and unbearable characters will be introduced, providing us with some good time pass entertainment amid all the isekai harems and ecchi that are being bombarded upon anime fans.

1. Episode 1 Release Date

Episode 1 of Urusei Yatsura Season 2 will be released on Thursday, January 11, 2024. It is a weekly anime, and a new episode is released every Thursday.

No, Urusei Yatsura Season 2 is not on break this week and will start airing from Sunday onwards.

2. Episode 1 Speculations

The first episode of the second season will start with our regular Ataru trying to get the attention of all the beautiful girls in the anime and impress Shinobu at the same time. 

The preview showed us some new characters as our old squad seems to have reached an isolated island. All the prominent characters from the previous season, namely Ran, Rei, Mendou, Fujinami, Sakura, Ten, and Sakuranbou, will accompany our protagonist duo. 

The other characters, such as Oyuki, Benten, Kurama, etc., will get some more screen time. The anime will follow its usual episodic format, with each episode dealing with numerous situations and gags and every episode starting with a new story.

3. About Urusei Yatsura

Urusei Yatsura is a manga series by Rumiko Takahashi. It has a total of 374 chapters and was published from 1978 to 1987. Its anime adaptation received 195 episodes from 1981 to 1986. A new anime adaptation with selected stories began airing in October 2022.

In the series, a humanoid alien race invades the Earth but agrees that if the protagonist wins in a game of tag, they will leave it unharmed. Ataru wins against the alien girl, Lum.

Lum misunderstands and thinks Ataru is proposing marriage, and starts living with him and joins his high school. Ataru is a trouble magnet and gets stuck in weird situations pretty often.
