Urusei Yatsura Episode 21 Release Date, Speculations, Watch Online

Benten lost her chain in episode 20 of Urusei Yatsura, titled “Recovering That Which Was Lost.” 

It was a mediocre episode with little to no development or plot. The whole episode was just about Benten trying to get back her chain from a bunch of punksters whose only job is to be pointless. 

The anime is in serious need of some character or plot development. It is getting boring to see the same routine episodes every week with repeated gags. Or, it will be a huge waste of beautiful animation.

Episode 21 Speculations 

Lum’s teacher might appear in episode 21 of Urusei Yatsura, titled “Cosmo Teacher CAO-2! Ooh, Scary! Voodoo Doll.”  

It will be another routine episode that will fail to even put a smile on your face. CAO-2 might refer to some kind of robot that will interfere in the lives of Ataru and Lum.  

We will also get to see some voodoo doll. I have no idea what or who that is. I am not much interested to see what it is, but let’s have a little hope to get some development soon. 

Episode 21 Release Date 

Episode 21 of the Urusei Yatsura anime has been released on Thursday, Mar 09, 2023. The episode title or preview has not been shown.

I. Is Urusei Yatsura on Break This week? 

No, episode 21 of Urusei Yatsura is not on break this week. The episode will be released as scheduled. 

Episode 20 Recap 

Benten goes missing. Lum wonders where she has gone, but when she returns home, she finds Benten chilling there. Benten tells Lum that her chain was stolen, and now she will search for it.  

They go to Oyuki, who gives Benten a box from someone unknown. The box contains a videotape. The videotape introduces them to Ginger, Sugar, and Pepper from planet Middle School, who consider themselves the toughest punksters. 

However, they are not famous because of the trio of punksters from the previous generation i.e. Lum, Benten, and Oyuki. So they have taken Benten’s chain hostage and challenged the trio to fight them. 

When Lum and the other two meet with the punksters, they get taken to a cafe on Earth. After enjoying a meal, they run away. Benten goes after them along with Lum and Oyuki.  

After a long tussle between the six, Lum gets her hands on the chain but accidentally brakes it while using her power. She lies to Benten about it. Benten tells Lum that the chain is very important to her. 

While they are chatting, a giant robot that belongs to the punksters shows up, and the trio falls into a pit. The robot spouts out tons of chains and leaves. Benten finds her chain, and they return to their planet. 

Benten reveals that the chain is actually the key to her house. Inside the house, they find the punksters but completely ignore them.

About Urusei Yatsura

Urusei Yatsura is a manga series by Rumiko Takahashi. It has a total of 374 chapters and was published from 1978 to 1987. Its anime adaptation received 195 episodes from 1981 to 1986. A new anime adaptation with selected stories began airing in October 2022.

In the series, a humanoid alien race invades the Earth but agrees that if the protagonist wins in a game of tag, they will leave it unharmed. Ataru wins against the alien girl, Lum.

Lum misunderstands and thinks Ataru is proposing marriage, and starts living with him and joins his high school. Ataru is a trouble magnet and gets stuck in weird situations pretty often.
