Princess Kurama makes her appearance in episode 4 of Urusei Yatsura, titled “Sealed with a Kiss!.” It was a weird and super cringe episode. The anime is slowly becoming the pinnacle of cringe and stupidity.
Ataru is a pervert who just goes after any girl he lays his eyes on. The new girl named Kurama looked like someone with some brain, but in the end, she turned out to be just as dumb and irritating as anyone else in the anime.

Episode 5 Speculations
Looks like another new girl will be introduced in episode 5 of Urusei Yatsura titled “The Glove of Love and Conflict! How I’ve Waited for You…”
Maybe that’s not true, and we will get a typical episode of Ataru running after every girl and Lum trying to get his attention. The anime has already aged even though it has just started, the drama is getting more and more generic with every episode.
The only saving grace is the bright and beautiful animation. I just hope we get to see a little development of any character if that is ever going to happen. The only development I see that will happen is Kurama generating feelings for Ataru (and that’s even worse).

Episode 4 Recap
Shinobu, Ataru, Lum, and Mendo are playing tennis when a bunch of speaking crows land on the court with a lady inside a capsule. They are looking for a male groom for their princess Kurama.
They find Mendo to be eligible for that. They tell him to kiss her to wake her up. Ataru tries to steal the kiss, but Lum stops him. When Mendo is about to kiss her, Shinobu stops him.
Ataru steals the opportunity and kisses her. When the princess wakes up, she thinks that Mendo is the one who woke her up and chooses him as her groom.
The talking crows hold a meeting where the elder is an old-fashioned stereotypical guy who can’t let the princess marry Mendo just because Ataru kissed her.
Ataru, Mendo, and Shinobu are having a strange discussion with the class when Kurama shows up. The talking crows show up behind her. They came after they tied up the elder not to let him ruin their plan.
They convince Mendo to do the deed with Kurama in order to save the clan. Shinobu and Ataru try to tell her that Ataru kissed her, but the crows don’t let them do that.
Kurama builds up a small round love hotel on the school ground so that she and Mendo can make babies. Every other girl gives up on him and lets Kurama take him away.
Ataru shows up with the older crow and reveals the truth to her. However, she cares about good looks over tradition. The crow himself doesn’t know the consequence of not following the tradition.
They decide to search for it in history. They reach the elder of the previous generation. However, no matter how many elders they contact, none of them know why the tradition needs to be followed.
They reach out to the first elder. Who reveals that he just made his personal experience into tradition. Kurama is disappointed to hear that. Mendo shows up and tells her that now they can marry without worrying about anything.
Ataru suddenly shows up and closes Mendo with a huge bell causing him to panic and get scared. Kurama loses her love for him and decides to set out to find a husband for herself.
About Urusei Yatsura
Urusei Yatsura is a manga series by Rumiko Takahashi. It has a total of 374 chapters and was published from 1978 to 1987. Its anime adaptation received 195 episodes from 1981 to 1986. A new anime adaptation with selected stories began airing in October 2022.
In the series, a humanoid alien race invades the Earth but agrees that if the protagonist wins in a game of tag, they will leave it unharmed. Ataru wins against the alien girl, Lum.
Lum misunderstands and thinks Ataru is proposing marriage, and starts living with him and joins his high school. Ataru is a trouble magnet and gets stuck in weird situations pretty often.
