Takemichi takes on another attempt at fixing the past in episode 13 of Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown, titled “When It rains, it pours.”

Overwhelmed by the frustration of being unable to take on anyone in the future and ending up with all his loved ones being killed by Mikey, Takemichi returns to the past once more to grow stronger and take on the leader himself.

Chifuyu already knows the future and tags with him to support his endeavors. However, their plan is quickly cut short when Kisaki has already taken the first step to eradicate Toman entirely with the help of another gang.

3. Recap of Episode 13:

Takemichi lies bloody on the floor beside a fatally wounded Mikey alongside him, dying in his arms. Both of them are filled with tears as Naoto watches it all from a distance, as our protagonist is now filled with both rage and determination.

In the past, Chifuyu and Takemichi talked in the rain as he continued to train and build his strength. Eventually, Chifuyu also realizes that he has returned to the past yet again and learns that everyone dies in the future because of Mikey.

He punches a tire to the point where his knuckles are covered in blood and his eyes well up with tears as he sits powerless and frustrated at his lack of strength to fight. Chifuyu sits beside him and talks him through it, and tries to find a solution to the problem.

They decide to take on Mikey, and even Takemichi feels a little better as they talk it out, realizing that Mikey is not some unbeatable being entirely out of their level. He wants to take Mikey on as a friend and is prepared to take him as an enemy if that’s what’s needed.

They begin theorizing on what may have incurred the change in Mikey while in the bath and conclude that Kisaki may have been involved somehow, even if he wasn’t the direct cause.

We also see Kisaki meeting up with a new character as he joins a rival gang in order to get his revenge on Toman. Chifuyu and Takemichi take some relaxation time as he has a Eureka moment and decide to go take down the Yokohama gang.

Yamagishi and Makoto end up getting beat up by a new gang in town, who now step out of the train and search for more gang members to beat up, and Takemichi takes an already injured Akkun and makes a run for it.

Chifuyu stays back to hold them off but is quickly knocked out, and the rest of the gang chase after Takemichi with a determination to take out the entire Toman gang. They manage to escape through a back exit and lose the trail.

They identify them as the Tenjiku gang from Yokohama for some mysterious reason and have been targeting members of Toman solely. Takemichi tries to go back and save Chifuyu but gets jumped by some of the gang members but is backed up by Akkun and the others.

They begin fighting through the gang but only manage to hold up for some time before they are inevitably outnumbered. Kisaki approaches him in his Tenjiku uniform, prompting another memory of Takemichi from the future.

Tokyo Revengers is a manga written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on March 1, 2017, and ended its run in November 2022. It is compiled into 31 tankobon volumes.

The story revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, who learned that Tokyo Manji Gang had killed his only ex-girlfriend from back in middle school. After learning about the incident, Takemichi was pushed from the railway platform.
