Spoilers from Chapter 13 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has now revealed the existence of a multiverse. The interaction between Kashin Koji and Boruto has confirmed this. There is a lot to ponder on this fact as the story is going to become way more complex with a multiverse.
Chapter 12 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex ended with Jura’s attack on Boruto and his team. Later, he struck down Boruto and Sarada and stole the Thorn Soul Bulb from them. In this article, we will explore all the information available on the new multiverse theory in Boruto.
Kashin Koji’s “Ten Directions”
Spoilers from chapter 13 of Boruto reveal a flashback where Boruto grabbed a toad. At this point, Kashin Koji does reverse summoning to summon Boruto and they had a long conversation at that point. This is where we are hinted at the existence of the multiverse.
Kashin Koji has an ability called “Ten Directions” with which he is capable of looking into alternate futures before they even happen. With the help of this, Koji explained to Boruto that other alternate timelines exist where things have gone differently.
He explains how there was a particular timeline where Naruto had failed to defeat Isshiki, which caused Isshiki to reincarnate in Kawaki’s body and caused the world to get destroyed.
In another timeline, Naruto and Hinata were sealed away, and Boruto and Sarada were killed by Kawaki. After this, Kawaki himself was destroyed by Code.
He explains how there are certain key events that happened, causing another future (timeline) to form. This means there have been several dire situations so far, but a single key event has changed their course of time, diverging into a better future that they currently live in.
A good example of this is, in a certain instance, Boruto was supposed to die; however, Sarada’s timely awakening of the Mangekyo Sharingan saved Boruto, creating a new timeline where he lived, branching away from the old timeline where he died.
Back to the Present
Himawari wakes up and heals Sarada, who was struck by Jura. Sumire also rushes toward Boruto. We see Kawaki trying to grab Boruto’s toad, but it disappears in his hands.
The scene is cut to the Shinju dimension, where we see Jura place the thorn soul bulb (which he snatched from Boruto in the previous chapter) into the claw mark cube. At this point, we see that the Shinju tree revived Hidari (who was previously defeated by Boruto) and all the four Shinju are assembled there.
The chapter concludes with the reveal of a new thorn soul fruit growing on the shinju tree, which was grabbed by Matsuri, who placed it in the claw mark cube.
Summary
We get to see Boruto’s inital interactions with Kashin Koji, who tells him how Boruto, Sarada, Kawaki and all the Shinjus exist as a part of multiple timelines, caused due to the branching of multiple futures.
Jura revived Hidari in the Shinju realm and Matsuri places the new thorn soul fruit in the claw mark cube.
