Cid is a character whose main goal in life is to live out his fantasy of being an “Eminence in Shadow”, a master manipulator from the darkness who is incredibly cool. The joke of the show is that everything he says when trying to look cool is actually true, but he doesn’t realize it.

Beginning his fight with the final boss was Cid’s ultimate goal in the vampire tower, but his preemptive strike may have ended that battle before it began. Now there are essentially three possibilities for what Cid could do next.
The simplest is if the resurrection ritual is already underway to revive the vampire queen, in which case Cid would have to fight a being who was able to be revived even through an atomic attack.
If she hasn’t been revived, however, Cid could always complete the ritual himself, creating his own final boss to battle. Lastly, he could also decide to focus on eradicating the mob of vampires swarming through the Lawless City instead of facing one singular foe.
3. Episode 2 Recap
Episode 2 of The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 featured the most important characters of the arc entering the vampires’ central tower and engaging in various fights against the undead.
Mary and Claire received the most focus after they encountered Beta and some other members of Shadow Garden doing research in the tower, leading to an intense conversation.
After this, the two encountered the brutal Juggernaut, who nearly killed them before Shadow intervened and quickly left to ransack the vampires’ treasures.
Injured, Mary revealed that she was a vampire fighting to stop the resurrection of her former queen. Later, we see Cid exploring the tower, where he starts to look for expensive things.
He wants to collect all the wealth because he plans to live for at least three hundred years, so he needs more money. Though he leaves all the treasure for later as his boss battle is coming up,
He plans to end the boss early as he has been doing the same things for a long time now, which is getting repetitive, but now changing the pace a bit won’t matter a lot.
As he is leaving for the next battle, he asks himself if he should make his entrance flashier or not. As the resurrection was about to take place at the end of the episode, Cid disrupted the ceremony with an atomic strike.

The Eminence in Shadow, a manga by Daisuke Aizawa, started serialization in 2018. It is scheduled to receive an anime in October 2022. An anime film, titled ‘The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes,’ was announced in December 2023.
Cid, the protagonist, is obsessed with becoming a hidden mastermind. Being reincarnated in an isekai world gives him the chance to act on his wishes and build up his power beyond the notice of people.
After rescuing an elf, he forms a squad who are supposed to fight the Diabolos cult which is just a figment of his imagination. However, the cult turns out to be true and now he actually has an enemy to face.
