The anime is about to take a more serious turn, and the trailers and teasers this far hold testimony to it. An unavoidable battle will soon occur in the anime, which has been mainly running on gag elements until now.
Special illustrations were being released since 9th January on the official Twitter account of That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime. The second season of the anime premieres on 12th January.
The first illustration which was released was by Shizuku Akechi, the writer and illustrator of That Time I Got Reincarnated (Again!) As a Workaholic Slime manga.
It was revealed on 9th January, just three days before the broadcasting date.

About That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, also known as TenSura, is a Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Fuse and illustrated by MitzVah.
It was serialized online between 2013 and 2016 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō.
It was acquired by Micro Magazine, which published the first light novel volume in 2014. Fifteen volumes have been released as of September 2019.
Satoru Mikami, an average 37-year-old office worker from Tokyo with no girlfriend, was asked for marriage advice by his colleague Tamura. After meeting him and his partner, Mikami is stabbed to death by a passing robber.
Upon making some requests during his death, he is reincarnated in another world as a slime with the ability known as a predator.
The skill lets him have the power of any creature he devours. Thus, he embarks on his isekai journey as the strongest slime in the history of slimes.
