Masayuki had grown bored of the smothering courtesies given by the nobles in Ballachia in the previous chapter. While looking for his room, he overheard a conversation between Earl and Marquis Goshel.

Earl proposed selling the abducted elves from Jura’s woodland in hopes of strengthening his position in the Orthrus auction market. Nevertheless, Marquis Goshel spotted Masayuki’s presence and recognized him as one of the nobility who had escorted them earlier.

Masayuki pretended to be lost and accidentally overheard their talk. Earl, on the other hand, explained that because Masayuki had previously heard them, they were forced to blame him for turning wild.
