Rika Suzuki’s Popular Fantasy Manga, Tableau Gate, is Coming to Conclusion

A card deck with several creatures with unique powers sounds like a game we used to play as kids. But what if those creatures come alive and wreak havoc upon us? Tableau Gate is one such manga that narrates the answer to this.

Written by mangaka Rika Suzuki, Tableau Gate is a fantasy manga that explores the world of mystical creatures with unique powers.

Sadly though, the manga is now coming to its end.

The Animate retail store in Fujinomiya city posted the cover for the 25th Volume of Tableau Gate on their Twitter account. The cover revealed that the manga will be ending with Volume 26.

The shipping date of Volume 26 has not been revealed yet but Volume 25 will be distributed this Friday.

The manga is about a boy called Satsuki, who is usually all by himself. One day he encounters a deck of illustrated tarot cards and a lady who claims to be the owner of the card deck. The lady then appoints him to collect the cards before they fall into the wrong hands, unleash their power, and create hell.

Those who have read Natsume’s Book of Friends will be able to relate to this manga. Rika Suzuki added her own touches to the creatures in the manga to make them stand out from other series that have similar themes.

As fans like to say, Rika Suzuki is one of the most underrated manga artists out there. She is immensely talented and does justice to her characters by her skills.

In Tableau Gate, you can clearly observe the intricate artwork and the clarity of the scenes. They are so well planned and made that you can’t help but be in awe of it all!

Her other works include Nageki no Siren, and Scarlet Wizard Plus.

The manga began serialization in Akita Shoten’s Princess Gold Magazine in 2007. It is thus coming to an end after running for 14 years!

Tableau Gate’s publishing in English is licensed by CMX Manga (DC Comics’ manga imprint). The manga was a success in its own way, and it is definitely one of a kind.

Tableau Gate is a manga series by Suzuki Rika. It was first serialized in the Princess Gold magazine in 2007 before transferring to the Princess magazine.

Satsuki Hikawa’s grandmother hands him a mysterious tablet one day. After receiving it, an unknown girl appears and tells him that he needs to put the missing symbol into them.

If the symbols escape, they will create chaos on Earth. Satsuki is now responsible for finding all the missing creatures that represent the symbol to bind them into the book again.
