The manga’s full title is “The Creator Alchemist Extols the Virtues of Freedom: When They Were Chased Out of Their Hometown, They Swore Fealty to the Demon Lord and Created Powerful Magic Items Non-Stop.”
The manga is based on a light novel series by Sakaki Chizuki, which began serialization in Shōsetsuka ni Narō in July 2020.
The story revolves around Tohru, who is expelled from the kingdom by his father, the duke. His lack of combat skills disgusts his family, due to which he is forced to run away at the age of 13 and survive as an alchemist, something he is very good at.
After his banishment, he allies with the Demon Lord, his father’s adversary. He starts making powerful magical items for him to seek revenge from his father through his skillful alchemy.
Although the plot does not seem striking at first, the decision to stray from the isekai trend gives the series hope for future subversion.
Given Steins;Gate 0’s manga’s beautiful art, the series is sure to deliver in the visual department. Taka Himeno has a skill for adapting good stories, be it a visual novel or a light novel. His previous works speak for themselves, and I can’t think of how this will be any different.
