Star Wars: Visions Goes Global with Volume 2 Releasing in Spring 2023

Star Wars: Visions started as a unique project that helped anime creators express their views on the impressive franchise. Its first volume came out as an anthology of nine animated shorts from famous Japanese anime studios, and all of them were more mind-blowing than the previous.

After volume 1 received enough attention from fans, the franchise is finally ready to give us an extension of the project.

During the Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022, Lucasfilms announced that Star Wars: Visions series will receive a second volume in spring 2023. Disney+ will stream the new volume.

Volume 1 was only limited to creators from Japan, but in the upcoming installment, the horizon is going to be broadened even more. Creators from the United States, Chile, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, South Africa, India, South Korea, and Japan will participate.

During the celebration, James Waugh also commented that “Star Wars and anime have a very bright future.” This seems like a promising future for the franchise as it suggests possible anime collaboration if Visions performs well.

Star Wars is one of those cult series that has fans gripped with new and unexpected projects. Star Wars: Visions is a similarly surprising project which was loved by everyone.

The freedom of the creators to create something for a franchise that they have loved since childhood really fueled the shorts.

Since volume 2 includes more creators from different countries, you can expect a more diversified view. So sit tight for the confirmed release date to be announced, as several exciting new shorts will await us at Disney+.
