2. Episode 8 Speculation
Everybody on the ship gathers at the deck for the fireworks show, as it will be the final showdown. All the assassins involved and Yor, Loid, and Anya will also be present for the ambush. Unless Yor stops the trap, Zeb’s life is at significant risk.
Moreover, Yor cannot risk creating a commotion like the previous fight. Yor’s cover could easily be blown since Anya and Loid will both be above deck. The small mask may fool most normal people, but Loid’s perception is at a different level. However, Anya will likely pull some strings to keep Loid out of the loop.

Yor’s opponent has a heavy spiked mace, which prevents her from getting at a close range. A commotion gathers around them, and Yor gets anxious about breaking her cover. Anya appears from behind and calls it a circus performance. The crowd begins cheering and clapping, assuming it’s just a show.
Eventually, the man makes a mistake, and Yor takes advantage. Yor quickly steps in and evades all his attacks, using his mace to tie him up and bowing to the crowd. Anya returns to the shop as Loid steps out in the wackiest beach outfit possible. Loid’s confidence is destroyed when Anya calls it lame.
Later, Loid carries a sleepy Anya back to the room while Yor returns her clients to the room. Yor’s boss walks into the room and stocks up on a silenced gun and some ammo. The boss warns Yor to keep her guard up as their lives are at stake. Yor tells Zeb and the others to rest since they have a big day tomorrow while she stays guard at the door.
While waiting at the door, Yor thinks about the heaviness in her leg during the fight. Yor realizes that it was the fear of getting hurt since she wouldn’t be able to explain it to Loid and Anya. However, Yor prioritizes her job first and focuses on completing the mission.
The following morning, Loid monologues about being the best spy in the world. After Anya called him lame, Loid realizes there’s too much unknown in this world. However, Loid pledges to overcome this problematic obstacle by himself. Anya tries to figure out how to lose Loid and go to Yor. On the way, Anya spots a golf course.
Anya’s plan backfires after Loid shows his superior golfing skills. This leads to Anya wasting time, and they eat food afterward. Every distraction that Anya spots is too easy for Loid, and she gets distracted by having fun instead. Before Anya realizes it, nighttime comes.
During dinner, Anya is extremely pissed that she wasted all this time without going to Yor. Loid sees her glare and is confused about why she’s mad after so much fun. Loid tries to calm down and think of multiple possibilities, desperate to solve the problem. Anya reads his mind and comforts Loid, telling him she wants Papa and Mama together.
Later in the night, there’s fireworks show that Loid plans to go for. Meanwhile, Yor tells her clients to dress up and prepare to move again quickly. The assassins get in position for an ambush at the deck.

Spy × Family is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump.
The story follows a spy who has to “build a family” to execute a mission, not realizing that the girl he adopts as a daughter and the woman he agrees to be in a fake marriage with are a mind reader and an assassin respectively.
Season 2 and a theatrical film are releasing in 2023.
