Episode 10, titled ‘Laughing Dog,’ gave us an insight into the dog, Yamkibo’s past. He was drifted into this world and met many others like him, including a kind girl named Kodoma, to whom he grew the closest.
Yamabiko was having a great time with all of them until an epidemic hit them all. As a result, all the students started having massive tumors on their bodies, except Yamabiko.
Since Yamabiko was the only one unaffected, all the students started to suspect him of bringing the fatal disease.
Later, a strange man arrived in their lives and revealed that he was the one to bring the disease into this world and that it has no cure. In the end, Yamabiko had to bid goodbye to Kodoma.

Episode 9 Preview & Speculation
Although it was revealed that Kodoma was the one to transform Yamabiko into a dog form, it’s unclear why she did so.
She used her powers at the time when everyone suspected Yamabiko of bringing the disease into this world, which could mean she did it to hide him from all the accusations.
On the other hand, the mysterious man who appeared later revealed that he’s out to kill a God. He was the only one left alive besides Yamabiko, confirming that he is still present there and the students can get some helpful information from him.
The next episode is going to be fun, and I look forward to some useful information that Rajdhani will return with after voyaging around the island.

Episode 9 of the Sonny Boy (2021) anime, titled “This Salmon Chazuke, Forgot the Salmon”, has been released on Friday, Sep 10, 2021.

Episode 8 Recap
Yamabiko reveals the story behind how he became a dog. When he was still a human, he got drifted into this world and met some other students like him. A girl named Kodoma took an interest in him.
With her powers, Kodoma could change anything in any way she wanted. Yamabiko was drawn towards her due to her kindness and helping nature and was willing to do anything for her.
The duo even made a promise to walk to the other world together through the skeleton path. Soon afterwards, all the students were devastated by an epidemic except Yamabiko as big tumors started developing onto their bodies.
Although Kodoma tried her best to find a cure, she couldn’t do anything. The tumors kept on growing and gradually turned into big red spikes of dividing cells. Yamabiko kept telling Kodoma that she is beautiful despite being sick.
Since Yamabiko was the only one unaffected, everyone suspected him to be behind the epidemic. This was when Kodoma changed him into a dog with her powers. One fine day, a mysterious man appeared in their world.
Kodoma tried helping him, but he behaved rudely and even called her ugly. After a few days, Kodoma met him again regardless of his rude behavior in the hope of learning some way to conquer the epidemic.
The mysterious man admitted that he brought the disease and told her there is no cure for the tumors. While talking to him, Kodoma discovered that the man has some kind of mental disorder. In the end, Kodoma gave up on her disease and flew away.
