Solo Leveling Finally Receives Anime: Release Date, Trailer, Latest Updates

Yes, you read that correctly, the revolutionary manhwa, Solo Leveling, will be adapted into a TV anime.

Solo Leveling is one of the most groundbreaking webtoons to have ever surfaced in the otaku realm. Whether it was the storyline or the artwork, the series genuinely had it all. It provided readers with a one-of-a-kind experience through and through.

As a result of its popularity, the webtoon is now receiving a tv anime adaptation, as announced at the Anime Expo 2022.

Will the anime stick to Sung Jin Woo’s original storyline? And will it live up to readers’ expectations?

1. Release Date

Solo Leveling is officially set to premiere in 2023. Crunchyroll will stream the anime as it airs.

3. Trailer/Teaser

A promotional video was also released to accompany the announcement of the tv anime adaptation of the Solo Leveling webtoon.

The teaser had stunning sequences from the original light novel. The teaser also included Choi Jong-In, Woo Jinchul, Baek Yoonho, Go Gunhee, and Cha Hae-In who would play a vital role in Sung Jin-Woo’s journey from nobody to a world-class hunter.

4. Plot/Storyline

Sung Jin-Woo a Twenty-year-old lives in a world, where random ‘Gates’ opens up connecting the real world with the realm of magic and monsters. To fight these beasts, ordinary people began to receive superhuman powers and became known as “Hunters” who fight to protect humanity.

These Hunters are categorized into ranks from A to E according to their potential, but there is also a class called the ‘S-Rank’ who are the highest-ranked among other Hunters thereby also called ‘World Class Hunters’.

Sung Jin-Woo is hardly an E-rank, but other Hunters refer to him as the “World’s Weakest” since he has little or no potential. Still, he goes on raids to pay the medical bills of his mother, who is in a deep slumber.

6. About Solo Leveling

Solo Leveling is a Korean Webtoon written by Chu Gong and illustrated by Jang Sung Rak. It is adapted from the web novel; I Alone Level Up. Kakaopage publishes it in South Korea and Piccoma in Japan. The series ended in December 2021 and has been collected into 14 volumes.

Portals connecting the Earth to realms of monsters have opened up, and hunters defeat those monsters. Sung Jin Woo belongs to the lowest level of hunters, but after getting involved in a Dungeon quest, he alone can see quests like that of a game.

His journey to become the most powerful hunter and bring peace back to Earth begins.
