The anime announcement has both fans and beginners thrilled, making Solo Leveling one of the most anticipated anime to debut on Crunchyroll next year; however, there are other reasons anime viewers should keep an eye on Solo Leveling.

The production will be directed by various well-known personalities, including one of the biggest names in anime music history.

Solo Leveling is a Korean web novel series authored by Chu-gong and drawn by Redice Studio’s Jang “Dubu” Sang-rak. The narrative is set in modern-day Korea and includes MMORPG aspects.

Humans with magical abilities can become hunters, entering portals to another realm to battle creatures and bosses. If the hunting party clears out the gate’s dungeon, their prizes can be spent in the real world.

Sung Jin-woo, the main character, is renowned as the world’s weakest hunter. Despite his bad reputation, he still participates in dungeon raids to help pay for his mother’s healthcare fees.

Jin-woo sacrifices himself during a double-dungeon run to allow the rest of his party to escape. On the verge of death, the hunter unintentionally completes a hidden quest and is transformed into a “player,” a particular role that allows him to complete quests and level up on his own using a game-like system.

The last chapter of the Solo Leveling manhwa was published on December 29, 2021, bringing the series to a close after 179 chapters.

A-1 Pictures, best known for its work on Sword Art Online and Erased, will produce the anime, which will be directed by Shunsuke Nakashige and written by Noboru Kimura. Tomoko Sudo will oversee character design.

Hiroyuki Sawano, who has worked on notable anime titles such as Attack on Titan, Blue Exorcist, and Kill la Kill, will compose the show’s music.

The anime will most likely adapt the Japanese version of the manhwa, which alters a few plot points. Jin-woo, for example, is now Shun Mizushino, and the setting shifts from Seoul to Tokyo.
