The ninth episode of Shinobi no Ittoki proves that this show is not what it started off as. Kousetsu, possessed, murders Yumika, devastating her, Ittoki, and the Iga Clan. Even though Karajishi has been arrested, he was the one to defeat the Iga by possessing Kousetsu and killing the chief, despite her trying to fight against it.

Episode 10 Speculation

Episode 9 Recap
One Iga ninja informed Reiha and Kozo that the Koga shinobi employed humanoid robots in battle. Ryoto found that the Koga’s Asura robots ran on rechargeable batteries after getting her hands on one of the destroyed robots. Reiha finally identified four locations close to Iga village where these robots might receive recharging.
Ittoki discovered the charging station and, armed with the remote bombs Ryoko had given him, headed in its direction. Himura, who was watching over the area, intervened and stopped him. The bombs were taken from Ittoki by one of the robots, who then planted them close to the charging station.
After the explosion, Ittoki and Ryoko discovered that the robot was Kirei, who had aided the Asura robots by blending in with them using Saiga’s disguise mask device.
Shione detained Karajishi at NSC headquarters for the murder of Gashogawara and tampering with the evidence.
Kousetsu, who Karajishi psychokinetically controlled as they approached the Iga hamlet, put her Kunai at Yumika’s throat and enquired about the whereabouts of the hidden ninja core.
Yumika attempted to retaliate against the person in command of her body, but Kousetsu killed her. Ittoki sobbed and held his mother in his arms as Kozo caught the lifeless Kousetsu.
