Owari no Seraph or Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign is a 2015 post-apocalyptic anime that ran for two seasons and rounded up a couple of short specials and one OVA. The Season 2 finale hinted towards the continuation of the story, and hence, fans anticipate the release of Season 3 soon.
Seraph of the End takes place in Japan in 2012 when a virus suddenly breaks out, wiping out anyone older than 13. This eradication of the majority of humanity leads to the rise of Vampires who establish their rule all over the planet. The surviving humans are treated nothing more than livestock.
Among these survivors are Yuuichirou and Mikaela, two young orphans who decide to rebel against the Vampire regime. Unfortunately, their plan fails, and Mikaela sacrifices himself so that Yuuichirou could escape. A few time-skips later, Yuuichirou becomes a member of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, ready to avenge his friend’s death.
Seraph of the End resembles The Promised Neverland in multiple ways. So, if you’re a fan of the latter, check out this anime for its nerve-wracking storyline and fluid action.
1. Release Date
Seraph of the End concluded its run in 2016 with an OVA. There hasn’t been an announcement for any new instalment ever since. If the anime renews for another season, we expect it to release by Fall 2023.
Seasons 1 and 2 covered the majority of the original manga. There wasn’t enough material for making a new season; hence, the producers have to wait for the manga to get more volumes before creating Season 3. However, it has been half a decade since Season 2 ended, and the announcement for a new season should be made latest by late 2021 or early 2022.
2. What To Expect From Season 3
Season 3 of Seraph of the End should follow the manga from volume 11, chapter 42.
In Season 2, we discover that Mikaela, who was presumed to be dead, was, in fact, alive. However, upon his reunion with Yuuichirou, we find out that he turned into a Vampire. Yuuichirou decides to get stronger and save his friends once and for all. Meanwhile, a large group of the Vampire nobles start plotting against the Imperial Army.
If Season 3 continues to adapt the manga, we would see the arrival of international Vampire nobles from countries like Russia to oppress the rebellion of humans in Japan.

Owari no Seraph or Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign is an anime adapted from the dark fantasy vampire manga series of the same name. The manga is still ongoing and is written by Takaya Kagami and illustrated by Yamato Yamamoto with storyboards by Daisuke Furuya.
With the promise of protecting the survivors of a mysterious virus, mankind becomes enslaved by vampires.
Among those survivors are Yuuichirou and Mikaela Hyakuya, who are taken captive by an orphanage along with some other children.
After a failed attempt to escape from the vampires’ cruel reign, Yuuichirou comes out as the only survivor and is found by the Moon Demon Company, a military unit out to exterminate vampires.
