The upcoming series “Rusted Armors -Dawn-,” is a samurai adventure based on 2.5D stage plays and a manga series of the same name.
Usually, “2.5-D” stage play initiatives are primarily based on current anime or manga, but that’s not the case with the Rusted Armors as the stage play began first in 2017.
The warring states period of Japan, better known as the Sengoku era, was when legends were born from Demon King Oda Nobunaga to the legendary land of Ashina.
Though some legends are more accurate than others, this upcoming anime titled “Rusted Armors -Dawn-” tries its best at blending the real with the imaginary.
1. Rusted Armors Anime Release Date
Rusted Armors -Dawn- anime is scheduled to be released in January 2022 on Crunchyroll. The anime has yet to release an episode count of the series. It will probably have 12 episodes given that the anime is based on the 2.5-D stage play and the manga which has only 2 volumes as of now.
The upcoming 3DCG anime puts a steampunk spin on the warring states period in Japan.
2. Key Visual
The key visual has Magoichi holding his sword ready to strike. He looks super focused and calm.
Nobunaga can be seen behind Magoichi. He looks confident with a smirk on his face. The visual also gives a glimpse of how war has made the country go red
The trailer starts with the main protagonist, Magoichi, fighting off against his enemies. It then shows Nobunaga who easily defeats his enemies being a warlord.
It also shows some of the characters in the upcoming anime. The teaser with its energetic beat, clashes of the sword, and amazing cast makes up for the 3DCG
animation.
4. Characters for Rusted Armors Anime
Here are some of the new characters we will see in the upcoming season:
I. Magoichi
Magoichi is a gun-toting leader of the Saika Ikki mercenary group. He is known for being fearless and a skilled warrior.
II. Oda Sabura Nobunaga
Oda Sabura Nobunaga is a warlord of the Sengoku era. He led a war to unify Japan under his clan’s rule in the 1560s.
III. Lucio Cortes
Lucio Cortes is a cruel foreigner who comes to Japan and crushes all those who oppose him. He is an anime-original character.
5. Plot/Storyline
The story of “Rusted Armors,” blends history and fantasy. It focuses on the battle between the Saika Ikki mercenaries and the warlord Nobunaga.
While Nobunaga fights with traditional swords, Magoichi and the other warriors use guns and sacred treasures called “armor” that grant them superpowers to fight off the
warlord.
Throughout the story, many other people and even supernatural creatures are looking for sacred treasures. The sole goal of discovering these treasures is to use them to earn more power and control.
The Saika Ikki must fight these forces and face many other trials on their journey to stop Nobunaga and ensure the protection of Japan.

7. About Rusted Armors
It is a multimedia project that started in 2017 as a series of 2.5-D stage plays.
The story takes place in the Sengoku period, a period in Japanese history of near-constant civil war. The drama revolves around Saika Ikki, a mercenary group that uses sacred treasures called “armor,” and Nobunaga Oda, who seeks to acquire Saika Ikki’s gun technology.
