The PlayStation line of consoles has been very profitable for Sony, especially the latest in-line – the PlayStation 5 –released in November 2020.
As per reliable hardware leaker Billbil-kun on Twitter, Sony will release the new PlayStation 5 Slim Models on November 10, 2023. The consoles will launch in Japan and the US on the same date, and the pricing will be USD 499.99 for the standard version and USD 449.99 for the Digital Titles-only version.
Billbil-kun has also mentioned a specific bundle that will excite Sony fans. Sony will be bundling a PS5 Slim with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on November 8th. This bundle will be priced at USD 559.99.
This leak comes just days after Sony’s confirmation of new PS5 models. These models were announced to be launched in November 2023.
The new revamped models will be smaller and lighter than the original model. It will also offer a new higher storage capacity of 1 TB.
The only difference from the original PS5 is that the PS5 Slim will feature an optional attachable disc drive.
The PS5 has been reduced in volume by more than 30% and weight by 18% and 24% compared to the older models. Four colorways are also included for the console.
The console covers for PS5 will start shipping in early 2024. The options include all-matte Black and Deep Earth Collection colors in Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver.
Since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has a high rating of 90 on Metacritic and is a first-party Sony title, it is expected that Spider-Man 2 bundled with the new PS5 “Slim” will make a lot of sense.
Despite being from a reputable source, this speculation must be taken with a grain of salt. While new PlayStations are coming in November, players have to wait and find out if there is some element of truth in these leaks by Billbil-kun.
