Platinum End: Release Date, Trailer, and Everything to Know

The manga Platinum End ended earlier this year, but fans of the series won’t have to wait for long as the anime adaptation is coming right up.

Announced at the end of last year, this anime series is set to bring a new meaning to Angels and Gods with its stunning animation and epic psychological battles.

From the creators of Death Note and Bakuman comes a new anime, “Platinum End” for us to be thrilled upon.

Platinum End centers around the life of a teenager, Kakehashi Mirai.  Mirai’s parents died in a car accident, leaving him no option but to come and live with his uncle and aunt. But, his life becomes unbearable with daily abuse from his uncle and aunt. 

Mirai becomes desperate after learning that his parents were killed by his guardians, and jumps from his school building to put an end to his miserable life.

However, he is rescued by an angel, Nasse, and she bestows upon him mystical powers. He avenges his parents with his new powers and starts on a new journey in the realm of gods and angels.

1. Platinum End Release Date: When is it Coming?

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait for long to see Mirai and the team in action. The series “Platinum End” will be released in October 2021. The series is also going to be streamed on Crunchyroll! 

The series is confirmed to have 24 episodes. The series will run in two cours for a span of six months without a break. 

2. Main Characters and Cast

I. Mirai

Mirai is the main protagonist of the story, voiced by Miyu Irino. Desperate in life with his daily struggles, he decides to take his own life.

But, his guardian angel, Nasse, rescues him. Moreover, he gained the abilities from Nasse, thereby deciding to live and be happy with the help of Nasse. 

II. Nasse

Nasse is a special-grade angel who grants Mirai three angel abilities. The abilities include wings, a white arrow and a red arrow.

Unfortunately, despite having a cute face, she has the habit of making some cruel remarks. Yui Ogura voices Nasse.

III. Saki

Saki is Mirai’s classmate, childhood friend, love interest, and coincidentally a god candidate. Once she gets to know that Mirai doesn’t intend to kill her, she teams up with him to deal with the rest of the candidates. 

Saki witnessed Mirai’s suicide attempt and out of guilt, she tried to killed herself too. Thereby meeting Revel and becoming a god candidate. M.A.O voices Saki. 

IV. Revel

Revel is a second-class angel who helps Saki. However, he is rather calculating and manipulative, which Nasse considers why he was relegated to being a second-rank angel, thus capable only of bestowing Saki with the red arrow. Natsuki Hanae voices Revel.

V. Uryu Kanade

Uryu Kanade, a high school student, a god candidate and the main antagonist of the series. He intends to become a god at any cost, including killing other god candidates. Kaito Ishikawa voices Uryu Kanade.

3. Platinum End’s Visuals

The latest visual shows Mirai and his angel at the center. Behind him, we see Kanade Uryu, the antagonist of the series.

The visual below shows us our main character, Mirai. He is with his angel in the middle of a busy street, about to unleash his powers.

4. Platinum End’s Trailer

The trailer starts of with a grim beginning as the protagonist, Mirai, tries to commit suicide. However, his guardian angel, Nasse, comes just in time to rescue him and bestows him with powers that he can use to exact revenge for his parents’ deaths.

The teaser takes a dark turn very soon as all the people who have received such powers start hunting each other. In this Godly game with no rules, only the victor will become the next almighty.

6. Conclusion

It looks like Fall 2021 has a lot to offer for anime fans with Demon Slayer Season 2 and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 premiering this winter.

And now we have one more reason to be hype about as “Platinum End” makes its way this Fall. With all the elite veterans working on Platinum End, I’m sure this 24 episode series will be one heck of an epic journey!!

7. About Platinum End

Platinum End is a Japanese manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Jump Square monthly magazine from November 2015 to January 2021.

An anime television series adaptation by Signal.MD will premiere on TBS in October 2021.

The series follows Mirai Kakehashi, a student who attempts suicide but is rescued by his guardian angel, Nasse.

Nasse not only has vowed to protect him but bestows him with special powers as he is also one of 13 candidates chosen by different angels to take the role of God, who is to retire in 999 days.
