1. Release Date
Season 2 of Plastic Memories is yet to receive an official renewal. Season 1 ended in 2015, and a sequel hasn’t been announced ever since. The best guess is that Plastic Memories Season 2 would release sometime in 2021.
It should be noted that since Plastic Memory is an original anime with no source material (manga, light novel, etc.), that ended with a very conclusive finale. This makes the chances of getting a new season slimmer.
2. What To Expect From Season 2
Plastic Memories Season 1 ended with Isla losing her memories. Though the ending seemed like a cliffhanger, I believe that the point of the shoow was to depict the circle of life. We are born, we live, and then we die.
Our memories mean nothing to us when we’re gone. So, the anime’s finale did convey that to us after Tsukasa loses Isla.
However, if a second season were to be made, we can expect Tsukasa to try and find a way to get Isla’s memories back. Otherwise, a plot exploring his life after Isla could also be approached.

Plastic Memories is an original television anime series produced by Doga Kobo and directed by Yoshiyuki Fujiwara. The series aired from April 5 to June 28, 2015, and had a total of 13 episodes.
Plastic Memories takes place in the future where humans have developed highly advanced androids that are almost indistinguishable from ordinary people, called Giftias.
These androids can feel and express emotions and bond with humans. However, they only have a lifespan of 9 years, after which they lose all their memories and turn hostile. Thus, after 9 years, all Giftias must return to SAI Corp, the company that produces them.
Tsukasa Mizugaki is a young boy who fails to pass his college entrance but luckily manages to secure a position at SAI Corp. There, he meets a beautiful veteran Giftia named Isla.
Slowly, the two fall in love, and as their relationship progresses, Tsukasa learns that Isla’s lifespan is nearing its end.
