Peachboy Riverside is the latest anime this summer that brings forth the question, to be or not to be? Though, in the weeb scenario, the question will be to stick to the manga or not stick to the manga?
The original Peachboy Riverside story started its life as a webcomic more than ten years ago. However, when the series started its manga volumes, it changed the course of the original story for obvious reasons.
In the latest Interview of Peachboy Riverside Anime Director Ueda with Animatetimes, he has stated that the anime will rearrange the story’s chronology to incorporate both the new manga story and the old webcomic story.
The reason behind this decision seems to be a practical workaround to the problem that, as of now, there are just six volumes of the manga. Additionally, the webcomic also has a good fan following, so the changes will enhance the anime.
According to the director, the Peachboy Riverside anime, which started airing on the 1st of July, will receive 12 episodes this season.
Additionally, among the many reasons the creative endeavor of the director to portray a story full of diversity is one of the reasons that anime will change the chronology. The story has depth due to its Japanese folktale characters, Western setting, and complex villains.
However, the fans’ concerns are justified since even popular animes like Horimiya took a turn for the worse due to deviation from the manga. Nevertheless, there is still hope because of popular anime series such as the original Fullmetal Alchemist.
But this is too soon to tell where this peachy story is headed, so catch up to the anime now!
