One Piece Reveals Its Biggest Sacrifice Yet – The Hour of Legends

The fight against Oden and Kaido started with an epic scene showing Oden and the Nine Red Scabbards walking to the battlefield. The Hour of Legends was said to be on its way, and it finally happened in chapter 971.

The Hour of Legends is the name given to Kozkuki Oden tolerating excruciating pain by being boiled alive in oil while holding up all of the Nine Red Scabbards over his head on a wooden plank.

This was the result of a deal made between Kaido and Oden.

Who gave Kaido “The Invincible” His Only Scar?

Chapter 971 starts with Oden’s public execution alongside the Nine Red Scabbards by being boiled alive in steaming oil. Before Oden steps into the pot, he makes a deal with Kaido. Kaido agrees to let them go, granted that they survive an hour of being boiled in the oil.

In response to this deal, Oden picks up the Nine Red Scabbards on a wooden plank above his head as he steps into the boiling oil all by himself. This gave birth to the name — The Hour Of Legends.

Oden vs. Kaido – Who would win in a fair fight?

With Kozuki Oden’s final moments coming to us in the next few chapters, fans can expect influential and heavy scenes on par with Whitebeard and Roger’s death. It is possible that Oden’s final words will provide invaluable information regarding the One Piece.

About One Piece:

One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since July 22, 1997, and has been collected into 95 tankōbon volumes.

The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.” These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece. Thus began a new age!

Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. With his diverse crew joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this will be one memorable adventure.
