One Piece Episode 919 Shows Just How Similar Luffy & Kid Are

“The Worst Generation” – that is the name given by the marines to twelve new-comer pirates with tremendous strength before the time-skip. This includes top names such as Euastass Kid, Monkey D. Luffy, Trafalgar D. Water Law, Marshall D. Teach, Roronoa Zoro, etc.

Recently One Piece put out episode 919. It shows Luffy jailed in the Udon Prison camp along with Kid and as it turns out, they’re very similar.

After Luffy lost to Kaido, he was put in the Udon Prison camp to be “worked to death”. Shackled in seastone handcuffs, he is being made to do manual labor side to side with another Worst Generation pirate – Kid.

However, this is but a minor setback to the future King of the Pirates. After regaining consciousness, Luffy is now back at full health and training hard after his defeat. Doing intense manual labor under the influence of seastone handcuffs, is training Luffy’s base form, and this will reflect exponentially once they’re out.

During this time, Luffy and Kid were shown to have very similar personalities when they stopped a prison guard from abusing a prisoner. They both put their lives on the line for the greater good. Their appetite is also very similar as they eat a lot and blow up and slim back down easily after working it out.

Luffy and Kid also have similarly strong wills, as they did not give in even after a personal beating from Kaido. It is also highly likely that Kid’s Conqueror’s Haki will be revealed during the Wano arc.

Luffy and Kid have been set up to be rivals since Sabody Archipelago, and fans go as far as comparing them to Roger and Whitebeard. Kid’s devil fruit allows him to manipulate metal using magnetic abilities.

However, a full breakdown has not been given. It is likely that Kid, in his desperation to defeat Kaido, will join the pirate alliance of Law and Luffy, leading to a 3v1 against the King of the Beasts.

About One Piece:

The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.” These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece.

Thus began a new age! Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. With his diverse crew joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this is one memorable adventure.
