One Piece Episode 1072: Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

Luffy returns with his fifth and last gear in episode 1071, titled “Luffy’s Peak- Attained! Gear Five.”

It is finally here! After a long, long wait, we finally got to witness the peak moment, and it was quite epic. However, it seems like it didn’t leave the mark people thought it would, as it was said to surpass Ultra Instinct Goku’s transformation, which it failed to do.

Still, we can’t deny that it was not a fun episode to watch. The comedic take on animation and the gimmicky look added to the characteristics of the gear and felt like a breath of fresh air. Who would have thought that Luffy would become the most childish in his ultimate form?!

It is probably the most special episode of One Piece because, apart from the transformation, it is the first time we got an outro for One Piece, and it was beautiful.

2. Episode 1072 Speculations

Luffy will fight Kaido with his bizarre powers in episode 1072, titled “The Ridiculous Power! Gear Five in Full Play.”

We will see Gear 5 on full display in the next episode. From the preview, it looks like it will be more of a comedic episode, but it is just how bizarre this new gear is. It defies all logic and makes the Earth bouncy.

I can’t wait to see how Gear 5 defeats Kaido. The powers of the new gear are insane, and the absurdity and ridiculousness of it make it one of the most unique transformations in all of anime.

The battle is about to come to an end in a few episodes, and with that, we will be done with Wano.

3. Episode 1071 Recap

Zunesha tells Momonosuke that he can hear the Drums of Liberation and is sure that Joy Boy has returned. As Kaido is about to attack the samurais and Straw Hats, Mugiwara starts feeling changes in his body.

He stands up again and wonders how he is able to do that. He realizes that he has lost but still finds it all fun. He starts bouncing and jumping in excitement, gaining power beyond his limit.

Everyone is surprised and wonders what’s happening on the rooftop. They all rejoice that Luffy is still alive. The five elders discuss how they were unable to get their hands on the Gomu-Gomu devil fruit for 800 years.

Zoan Type Devil Fruits have a will of their own, and the Gomu-Gomu one even bears the name of a God. They reveal that the other name of this devil fruit is “Nika,” the Sun God.

On awakening, the user’s rubber body gets even more strength and freedom. It is the most ridiculous power in the world. Meanwhile, Orochi realizes that it is Hiyori sitting in front of him.

Hiyori blames him for not keeping his promise to her father. Her father danced and made a fool of himself for five years, but Orochi and Kaido didn’t free the Land of Wano.

Orochi pleads with her to let him live. Kanjuro shows up with the little fire he is left with. Orochi thinks he will be saved, but Kanjuro burns him instead.

Luffy claims that he is now at his peak. He laughs and bounces hysterically. Then he takes his hand, inflates it, and launches it at Kaido, grabbing him and pulling him to the roof.

He slams Kaido multiple times around the roof. After getting slammed, Kaido gets up and thanks Luffy for being alive. He fires Blast Breath at him, but Luffy uses the ground as a shield and reverses the ball of fire, burning Kaido.

Kaido tells Luffy that he is unhappy about how their fight ended. We get a flashback to what happened when CP-0 interrupted their fight. Luffy gets ready to settle the fight.
