One Piece Ch 1097: Raw Scans, Spoilers: Some More Dragon Backstory

The God Valley Incident is revealed in Chapter 1096 of One Piece titled “Kumachi.”

After the World Nobles announce the game’s rules, the massacre begins at God Valley. Multiple external sources learn about the incident and show up at the festival, taking out the marines guarding the coast. Meanwhile, Ivankov plans an escape.

Along with Kuma and Ginny, Ivankov says that the only way they can escape is by stealing two of the prizes. Although extremely risky, this is the only way the slaves can survive.

Meanwhile, at Marine HQ, Kong contacts Garp, asking him to go to God Valley. He hesitates initially, but when Kong mentions Roger being involved, Garp immediately jumps to leave for the island. The Rocks Pirates have already left Hachinosu ahead of time.

The competition is underway, and Ivankov gathers multiple slaves. He tells them that the number of survivors from past tournaments is zero. Thus, their only hope is to escape the game entirely. St. Garland speeds through the rankings and gathers 10,000 points.

With a shark fish-man, Ivankov breaks through his chains. Ginny says the only way they can escape is by using two of the tournament prizes. They have to steal either the Uo Uo no Mi, which transforms the user into a dragon, or the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi, which sends the user or others flying far away.

Ginny broadcasted the information on this island two weeks ago, and help may be coming. For their plan, they will need a decoy that will have to risk their life. Kuma happily volunteers since he has a big body, and Ivankov assures him of his survival.

The Rocks Pirates and other crews start their attack on the Marines. Multiple pirates, including Edward Newgate, Shiki, Buckingham Stussy, Charlotte Linlin, Kaidou, and Gloriosa, make their way onto the island along with Roger and his crew.

During the fight, Ivanov and Kuma manage to steal the two Devil Fruits. Before Ivankov could eat the Uo Uo no Mi, Linlin slams him into a wall and takes it back. Before she can take the fruit from Kuma, he eats it quickly. Jaygarcia Saturn attacks him right after, insulting his tribe once more.

However, Kuma stands up and says there’s no fate attached to anyone just because of their birth circumstance. Just like Nika, he wants to save as many as he can. The rest of the God Valley incident is erased from history. At Sorbet Kingdom, Ginny, Kuma, and Ivankov safely reside and eat a bunch of food.
