The popular Japanese manga series Noragami has captivated readers with its storytelling, action-packed scenes, unique portrayal of Japanese mythology, and well-developed characters. Fans are excited as the creators just announced the release date for the last volume.
The December issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine announced that the final chapter of the manga duo Adachitoka’s Noragami: Stray God will be released on January 6, 2024. Chapter 109 will be the last chapter of the series.
Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the manga in English and its Noragami: Stray Stories spinoff manga.
The series will follow a one-issue break in December before releasing its final chapter.
On February 20, it was announced that the 27th compiled book volume would conclude the manga series after it had already embarked on its final arc back in June 2022.
The story follows Yato, a stray God of delivery who dreams of having millions of worshippers. Despite being the God of calamity in the past, he takes odd jobs for just 5 yen per task. However, without a single shrine dedicated to him, he starts losing hope and becomes anxious about being forgotten by humans.
After Hiyori saves Yato from an accident, her soul oscillates between the human world and the afterlife. Yato asks for her help, cementing his presence, promising to revert her to her original state. With her reluctant assistance, Yato’s luck might finally turn around.
The manga inspired a 12-episode anime that premiered in January 2014 and received a second season in October 2015. Two-stage plays were also produced, one in January 2016 and the second in February 2017.
Fans of the Noragami manga series can anticipate an emotional and thrilling finale in the last volume. The concluding volume promises to provide answers about Yato’s fate, Hiyori’s choices, the climactic battle, and the ultimate ending of the manga. The authors, Adachitoka, are committed to delivering a satisfying conclusion that will make the wait worthwhile for readers.
