Netflix has been rapidly making a name in the anime streaming industry by bringing us the latest releases and a few originals. The newest addition to its catalog is the upcoming rom-com, Komi Can’t Communicate.
This chaotic and sweet love story about a girl with a communication disorder and a boy who’s decided to help her make 100 friends will win your hearts. The series will premiere on Netflix’s platform on October 7, 2021, for Japan, but now we finally have an international premiere date.
Netflix released an English subbed trailer for the upcoming anime Komi Can’t Communicate. The streaming giant will broadcast the episodes weekly in over 190 countries in eight dubbed languages and 31 subtitled languages on October 21, 2021.
The subtitled trailer shows all kinds of scenes from the anime featuring the protagonists, Komi and Hitohito. The video also features some of the supporting characters of the anime like Rie, Rina, Rumi, and Yukiyo.
The story starts when Shouko Komi attends an elite high school where everyone is stunned and intimidated by her beauty. It is revealed that Komi suffers from a communication disorder and has trouble making friends.
Hitohito Tadano discovers this about Komi and promises to help fulfill her wish of making 100 friends. This is how Komi makes her first-ever friend and also falls in love with Tadano.
Their journey through this task is ecstatic, with many characters with uncanny yet unique personalities. Komi soon becomes friends with them all, who consider Komi a close one as well.
This eccentric blend of chaotically hilarious characters is a must-watch for all romance and comedy lovers. The story handles the sensitive issue of social anxiety and communication disorder very carefully.
Moreover, people suffering from such problems can finally have something they relate to and find comfort in. The rom-com lover in me can’t wait for this anime to come out.
