Episode 13 Recap
A group of young boys visits a Buddha shrine looking for Tanuki, but the Elder poses as the Budda statue while the rest hide. The Elder wonders where Mameda is. Mameda is currently enjoying a meal with Heibei. Heibei gives Mameda a gift containing a lot of money before he leaves. Byakudanji tells her to return it immediately.
The police arrive with Heibei, who accuses her of stealing the money. In a flashback, we learn that Bunchou punches Heibei, which leads to Heibei demanding Bunko cash, which she throws at him after he humiliates her. He keeps the money safe to give Mameda in the present.
Shirara and Mameda escape to the entertainment hall. The police eventually arrive and punch Sakujiro when he tries to protect them from being discovered. When they are about to attack Shirara, Rakuda comes in time to save her.
The police eventually try to arrest Mameda after she lies about committing the theft, but a crowd enters a hall after Enu announces that Bunko will perform for free. She conducts a story on police offers and entertains the crowd. Heibei interrupts her act, while Bunko questions if the money Mameda stole was even real.
The bag containing the money was just left disguised due to Bunko’s trick. Hebei accidentally reveals that he framed Mameda and the entire hall humiliates him. Mameda tells him to see her perform again, which causes the hall to clap because of her kind nature.
Bunko hugs and comforts Mameda and takes her out for a boat ride. Mameda asks Bunko about her master, who tells her that his hard work burned him out, causing her to worry about Mameda too. Mameda thanks Bunko for making Mameda her apprentice. Bunko sees the spirit of Bunchou, who tells her to let his art die with her but then makes her a new path as a good master.

About My Master Has No Tail
My Master Has No Tail is a manga by TNSK which is serialized in Kodansha’s good! Afternoon magazine from January 2019.
The manga features Mameda, a shape-shifting tanuki, who wants to learn the art of rakugo or comic storytelling. She sought out Bunko to be her master.
Yet, Bunko has no intention to have an apprentice. After lots of mishaps, Mameda is taken in and needs to prepare for going through the tough path of being an artist.
