Chapter 302 continues the suspense-filled situation left at the end of chapter 301. After Touya’s attempt at hurting Shoto, Enji decided to keep Shoto away from his other children.

Five years went by after this incident, and Enji kept Shoto away from his siblings and continued to train him. Touya tried to let steam out by talking to Natsuo about his dad’s behaviour, however, Natsuo was too young to understand any of it.

Touya used to go to a mountain top to practice his powers in secret. One day, his mother tried to stop him, but it ended up angering Touya even more. This anger boosted his growth and made him taller and his fire blue.

He tried to show off his new powers to his dad. Instead of being happy about Touya’s growth, Enji got angry at the new burn marks on Touya’s body and fought with Rei about her not keeping their children in check.

The scene shifts back to the present, where surprisingly, instead of blaming Enji for the whole ordeal, all of them share a part of the blame as they all had their part in driving Touya away.

We see Touya’s transformation to Dabi as one day, while Touya was filled with rage and crying on the mountain’s top, his fires wouldn’t go out and ended up lighting the entire mountain on fire along with his own body.

By the end of the chapter, we get a confirmation that Endeavor will fight Dabi at some point in the near future. The chapter ends as they acknowledge that they need to support their family’s hero – Shoto.
