After saving her from the blizzard, Sara gets closer to Rudeus with each passing day. Eventually, it’s clear that she likes him much more than a friend, and they find themselves in Rudeus’s room after a night of drinking.

However, Rudeus still has not emotionally disconnected from the trauma that Eris left with him. Unable to bring himself to be with another woman so soon, Sara walks out on him and leaves him frustrated.

Rudeus continues his adventures with Counter Arrow, with his reputation as Quagmire Rudeus growing bigger daily. Moreover, he also grows closer to Sara daily, although she quickly gets jealous whenever he mentions any other woman in his life.

During one of their afterparties, she casually asks him out on a date which he readily agrees on. They drink a lot, and she asks if they should go to their room now, but he’s hesitant, especially since he hasn’t completely moved on from Eris.

She opens her heart to him, and Rudeus makes his first move. However, even though his brain was interested in being with Sara, his body had other ideas and constantly sent him warning signals. Frustrated after Sara walks out, he begins chugging drink after drink at the tavern, taking out his anger on Paul.

After hearing about his story, he lends an ear to Rudeus, and he opens up properly. They conclude that it may be because of his inexperience in bed, and Paul says he knows the solution to his problem. He takes him to a fancy brothel, where he has a private room with one of the women there.

However, even with an expert like Elise, it still seems like Rudeus is clinging to past trauma. In the morning, Paul gives him even more advice to try and fix it up with Sara, but he’s still drunk and starts blabbering about Elise out loud in the street. Sara walks in and overhears his words, slapping him and storming off.

Paul tries to help him, telling him to run after her and apologize immediately, but Rudeus has already disassociated and given up on Sara. Ultimately, he invites Rudeus on a labyrinth mission later in the day, gladly accepting anything that will take his mind off his woman problems.
