Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 2 Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

Rudeus finds himself at rock bottom after Eris’s abandonment in episode 1 of Mushoku Tensei Season 2, titled “The Brokenhearted Mage.”

With no will to fight and purely fueled by a duty to find his mother once more, Rudeus carries on wandering through the lands and going into dangerous areas. However, the generosity and friendship of adventurers would never let him go on this path alone.

Convincing him to join their party, Suzune takes Rudeus on a dangerous mission out into the mountains, where an organized plan is made to kill some bears. However, when it all turns south, and death nears close, Rudeus steps up.

1. Episode 2 Speculation

Rudeus remains in a highly conflicted mental state, brokenhearted about Eris’s abandonment but still burdened with responsibilities. He doesn’t want to betray all of his old master’s teachings and also must find Zenith, so he carries on.

He has joined Suzune’s party and will likely stay with them for a while before continuing to find Zenith. There is also the possibility that both Suzune and Sara will help him out on his quest considering how friendly they have been so far.

Hinted by the trailer and the opening, Sara will be an essential character this season, while Suzune is barely apparent. This could mean she may die or leave on a future mission, leaving only to Rudeus for Sara to depend on.

3. Recap of Episode 1

Rudeus sits silently on the back of a carriage, hitching a ride to wherever it takes him. Adventurers on the same route try and make conversation; both Suzune and Sara are concerned about what seems to be a child traveling alone into an extremely dangerous area.

Suzune explains the current state of the North, including the areas of research and strength and what each region excels in. Finally reaching his destination, he rents out a room for a month and immediately goes to bed clutching Eris’s lock of hair but quickly pulls himself out of it with the motivation to find Zenith.

He disbands his party and takes on a difficult job at the guild, but Suzune offers to join him out of sympathy. The dawn brings the party to the North Gate as they all head out to the mission while making their introductions.

Setting camp at night, they discuss formation and party roles while awaiting the target bears. The whole herd is sleeping together, and they start their attacks together in coordinated bursts from afar so that they won’t have to risk any close-range attacks.

However, the seemingly effortless mission quickly takes a turn with the sudden appearance of black grizzlies from the opposite direction. Surrounded from all areas, the party doesn’t falter and continues to put their feet on the ground and fight till their last breath.

Seeing this fire blazing in the hearts of his party members, an endless will to protect their friends reignites something within Rudeus. In the last moments, he finally steps up and casts a powerful spell that puts them all to shame and all the bears to ash.
