Mugen Shinshi, Occult Detective Manga, Inspires Live-Action Film

Mugen Shinshi, a classic supernatural detective manga series from the 1980s, is back again to make shivers run down our spines. The live-action film will explore the story of a girl who has been led to believe that she is a doll!

Set in Japan’s Showa era, a young detective solves cases that do not make sense to ordinary people. The detective finds himself in the middle of spirits, supernatural beings, and some weird developments in everyday life.

The Mugen Shinshi: Kaiki-hen manga is inspiring Mugen Shinsi Ningyou Jigoku, the live-action film that will premiere in early summer 2021. A teaser trailer is also available for the film.

The trailer shows, Mamiya Mugen, the detective protagonist of the series, examining a girl who doesn’t exhibit any movement or feelings. It is almost like she is not even a human.

Later in the film, we will come to know that the girl, Nayuko, has been led to believe that she is a doll. The movie adapts the “Doll Hell” arc from the Kaiki Hen manga series.

Mugen Shinshi’s original manga has been adapted into several spinoff mangas. Kaiki-hen shows a much more serious perspective with horror elements added to the series. Mugen is shown as a man in his 20s, and he possesses spiritual powers.

The fund for the film came through a crowdfunding campaign in 2015. The campaign raised around $ 13,600, which was used to cover the film’s production cost.

Wearing a dark outfit, and with a cigarette in hand, the suave Mugen can steal the heart of any girl he likes. Will he be able to save the small girl with a broken heart though?

The Mugen Shinshi manga series by Yosuke Takahashi is a supernatural detective series. It was adapted into an OVA in 1985, and a live-action film will premiere in summer 2021.
