Crafting Tables Now Mobile with New Valheim Mod

Nexus Mods user rolopogo’s mod, Crafty Carts, gives players the chance to build settlements as well as repair their equipment while staying mobile.

Given the nature of the survival RPG, Valheim players need to travel far from their bases to gather resources, fight new bosses, and level up. As such, having a mobile station where you can repair your old equipment and craft new ones makes a lot of sense. Who wants to keep going all the way back to base? You can’t even transport some material through portals! 

To create wood and stone structures, the workbench and stonecutter have to be crafted and to repair tools, the workbench and forge have to be leveled up. 

They all have limited range that forces players to build multiple crafting stations for more intensive builds or to destroy and make new crafting stations multiple times. 

This mod addresses those issues by placing the workbench, forge, and stone cutter on wheels, removing any restrictions players faced. It basically combines the station with the in-game cart and costs the player the same resources as the original with an additional ten bronze nails. 

So far, this mod has been downloaded over 400 times and was released just a few days ago, on April 27th. A mobile cooking cart station is missing from the mod, but the creator has stated that it may be considered. 

The world of Valheim is vast and filled with stuff to do, and the crafting system has given many players a lot of room to flex their creative muscles.

But there is always room for improvement, as is evident by this mod. The vanilla game has several restrictions when it comes to crafting, sometimes pushing players to travel far in search of resources, only to make their way all the way back to their base to fix their tools. 

It seems rolopogo has hit a good balance with this mod, easing the tediousness of having to travel back and forth between workstations while not impacting the survivability aspect of the game too much. Just in time for the upcoming Hearth and Home update!
