Tome disbanded her beloved club. Her dream of communicating with aliens with the help of telepathy was crushed. Thus, to revive her, her other club members reach out to Mob.
It was quite good to see how much Mob has developed as a person. We can clearly see how different he is now from when the series began.

Mob and his friends will head for the summit in episode 8 of Mob Psycho 100 season 8, titled “Communicating 2~Close Encounters of the Third Kind~.”
The next episode will be spent reaching the summit. It will be a difficult journey, as can be seen from the preview. This new arc seems to be somewhat unnecessary, but they are doing it for Tome, so it is alright.
Will aliens really show up, or is it all just talks? That will be a little exciting to watch.

Episode 7 Recap
Kurata will graduate in three months, so she wants to make some memories with the Brainwave Club. However, the other three club members don’t really care much about the club.
Thus Kurata is upset, and she disbands the club. The three other members go to Mob and ask him to use telepathy. They tell him that Time has left the club. Mob can’t do telepathy, but Ritsu knows someone who can.
Tome wanted to use telepathy to communicate with aliens. Ritsu takes them to Daichi Shiratori and Kaito Shiratori. They tell them that their telepathy only works between the siblings. They still decide to help out.
They get back to school. The siblings tell Mob and the others that they can take help from other telepaths. To find them, they will send out a noise only telepaths can hear.
With Mob’s help, they can amplify the frequency reaching a wider range. They begin sending signals, and Mob’s help makes the transmission even stronger. The plan works, and a boy named Takenaka shows up in no time.
Takenaka was a previous Brainwave Club member who quit the club and went to the tennis club. Mob and the siblings try sending signals again. This time, the frequency is even higher. So high that it starts hurting psychics all around.
Takenaka forces them to stop. He tells them how he came to know about his power. Others thoughts would often ring in his ears. At times he used his power for fun and to cause trouble.
With time he understood his power, and now he doesn’t use it anymore. Inugawa apologizes to Takenaka for causing him trouble. Takenaka starts to leave when Mob stops him and starts using talk-no-jutsu.
Takenaka is convinced to help them. Mob calls up Reigen to go to Mud Mountain on new year’s eve. Inugawa calls Tome and invites her, but she refuses. She stops receiving their calls.
Reigen oversleeps on new year’s eve. Others gather at a spot at 9 a.m. There, they find Tome already waiting for them. She is shocked when she sees Tanenaka showing up, claiming to be the telepath.
She thinks they have tricked her. They go to Reigen, who is waiting at a parking lot. They together head for the Mud Mountain to find aliens.
