Mars Red Anime: Release Date, Visuals, and Trailers

Mars Red is an upcoming historical vampire anime that will release this April. The series is set in Japan of the 1920s and gives off a vibe similar to Bungou Stray Dogs and Hellsing.

Mars Red will be the first anime to be adapted from a Japanese stage reading of the same name. There’s a lot of anticipation surrounding this unusual anime so, let’s hope it lives up to the hype!

Mars Red takes place in an alternate reality where vampires exist. In order to avoid drinking human blood, a company created Ascra, an artificial source of blood. This leads to an increase in the number of vampires.

The government decides to control their population by reassigning Code Zero, a team of highly skilled and experienced vampires, to investigate and control the vampire outbreak

1. Release Date

Mars Red will release on April 5 this year and will be a part of the packed with awesomeness 2021 Spring anime lineup. The anime will air on Yomiuri TV from April 5, 2021, every Monday, and on TOKYO MX, every Wednesday in Japan.

International audiences can enjoy the series every Monday from April 5 on Funimation.

The show is directed by Fujisawa Bun-o and is produced by Funimation in collaboration with Yomiuri-TV Enterprise LTD. The opening theme, Aria of Life, is performed by Wagakki Band, and the ending, One My Own by Hyde.

2. Visuals & Trailers

Three key visuals have been released, promoting the anime.

The visuals feature the main characters at various locations of early 20th century Japan. The characters include Suwa, Yamagami, Takeuchi, Kurusu, and Maeda, who are also members of Code Zero.

Two trailers have also been released for the new anime.

The first trailer sets the background of the story by showing us exactly show the vampires’ lives are strictly regulated. We then meet the main characters and the members of Code Zero and their voice cast.

3. About Mars Red

Mars Red is Historical, Shounen vampire manga is written by Bun-O Fujisawa and illustrated by Kemuri Karakara that began serialization in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Garden from January 4, 2020.

Mars Red published its first compiled volume on May 29.

The story is based in 1923, Japan. In the 12th year of Taisho, vampires who live in the darkness off of human blood appeared in Tokyo at night.

In response to this threat, the Japanese government creates The 16th Special Task Force, commonly known as the “Zero Agency,” inside the Army to take them down.

Vice Admiral Nakajima had created this unit to counter the information warfare of the powerhouses of modernization, but now its primary mission is to hunt Vampires.

Zero Agency consists of Colonel Yoshinobu Maeda, the strongest human being who controls the zero engine. Shutaro Kurisu, the strongest vampire in Japan Tokuichi Yamagami and Swawa who has been a vampire since the Edo days.

Together this unit must hunt down vampires and solve the mystery behind Ascra, artificial blood that has led to the increase in vampires.
