Ever heard of ‘otaku’ people standing up for themselves? Jun Inagawa’s original anime series Maho Shojo Magical Destroyers centers on that premise. The anime has released a few character teasers and, just recently, a full promo.
On Sunday, the official website for Maho Shojo Magical Destroyers released a one-minute promotional video. It shows all four main characters in action. In the end, it also reveals the release window and the theme song artists.
Aimi will perform the opening song “Magical Destroyer” and The 13th Tailor will perform the ending song “Gospelion n a classic love”. Magical Destroyers will premiere sometime in April 2023 on Japan’s MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS channels on the “Animeism” programming block.
The story is about four otaku characters who come together to revive the otaku culture, which has been destroyed by the mysterious organization SSC. An otaku hero stands against them, with three magical girls by his side.

Maho Shojo Magical Destroyer does seem to attract an audience wider than the magical-girl fandom. However, we will have to wait for its premiere to see if it successfully does that.
