Locke and Key is based on a comic book series of the same name, created by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez. The story in the show follows the Locke family who moves from Seattle to their family home in Massachusetts after the patriarch Rendell is murdered.

The three children, Tyler, Kinsey and Bode, along with their mother, Nina, discover a set of magical keys that can open different doors in the old house and unlock a vast array of powers in them. Unknown to them, a demonic entity is also looking for the keys.

Netflix renewed the series for a second season in March, soon after the ten-episode first season. Like most other shows, the production for the second season of Locke and Key was affected due to the coronavirus pandemic. Although no official date for the premiere has been announced, we know some details about the second season. Actor Brendan Hines has signed up to play a charismatic history teacher in Matheson Academy, the school the siblings attend.
