He tells Ri Shi that he just gave Kan Pishi poison and advised him to commit suicide. He tells Ri Shi to be quiet about what Kan Pishi told him, or he will delay the unification of Qin with the central plains by ten years.

He starts telling Ri Shi how he holds the thread to all the spies of Qin who have spread across the nation and bring invaluable information. They not only bring information but also prevents potential allegiance and coalitions that can be a threat to Qin.

He and all the other spies are important to Qin right now. Ri Shi accuses him of letting Kanki die despite knowing what Riboku was planning. He replies that he is not a military spy.

At that time, he had gained Riboku’s trust and is right now acting as a quadruple agent. He couldn’t have risked his position for a piece of information for which the outcome was uncertain.

He goes on to say that he and his spies are determined to end the era of wars and unify all the nation under the flag of Qin. For that, he has to remove any threat, and Kan Pishi was one such threat.
