5. Chapter 695 Recap
In the beginning, Kanki’s men are seen escorting Zhao soldiers who’ve surrendered. One of them remarks how they won’t be able to catch them all if they start running even with their hands tied.
Rin Gyoku, Kokuo, and Maron meet, and Kokuo remarks that she hasn’t been able to kill the guy battling her, but he’s nearly dead.
Rin Gyoku says that Kanki should have at least told his inner circle about the master plan. Kokuo thought only Maron knew about it and found out that Maron and Raido both knew.
Kokuo grows even more furious as she finds out that Raido probably knew before even Maron. It really gives her perspective on where her place is as a trusted commander and warrior in Kanki’s eyes.
Shin’s troops are still fighting beyond the point of Eikyuu when Shin receives the message that Kochou is dead and Kanki has won.
He is shocked at first and thinks it’s a lie, but after the initial shock wears off, he is tasked with looking after the surrendered Zhao soldiers.
Rin Gyoku, Kokuo, and Maron get to Zhao headquarters, but Kanki isn’t there. A soldier informs them that they found Raido, and that’s where Kanki went.
The soldier explains how Raido was captured and taken to Kochou, and Rin Gyoku wonders that that might mean he’s dead.
The three go to Kanki and find several heads on a table, but Raido isn’t among them, and then they look inside a box and find that he’s been torn to pieces.
The Sami clan says that the Zhao did that to make him spill information on Kanki’s plan, and he didn’t say a word because that would have inevitably meant their loss.
Kanki calls Raido an idiot because Kanki had told them to run away and save themselves when things got bad, but he didn’t listen, and now he’s dead. Kokuo asked the Saki clan who killed him? He said all the people involved in his murder were dead except for one.
