‘You Were Experienced, I Was Not: Our Dating Story’ unfolds one of the most unique romantic stories where the main characters are drastically different from each other. Nobody would expect the two to even talk, let alone date each other.
Ryūto Kashima, a gloomy high-school boy, looks at himself as an NPC. He falls in love with Runa Shirakawa, who is arguably the most beautiful and popular girl in school with a crazy dating history. Despite being poles apart in almost every way possible, a punishment game brings the two together.
The official website for the rom-com anime ‘You Were Experienced, I Was Not: A Dating Story’ revealed a new promo video and visual on Sunday. It also revealed the additional cast, the themes songs, and the October release window for the series.
The trailer starts with Runa meeting Ryūto while holding a note. She accepts Ryuto’s proposal, shocking his friends. After a few romantic moments, more characters are revealed, including Ryūto’s friends Ichiji and Ren, Nikoru, and Akari.
In the background, the opening song “Love You Tender!” is played and performed by Maaya Uchida. The ending theme song is also revealed, which is “Aikotoba” by the rock band AliA.

Unlike most rom-com series where a friendship blossoms into a love affair or a person tries to pursue it, this one jumps to the dating part right away. Runa’s straightforward and carefree behavior steals the spotlight at all times, leaving not just Ryūto, but all of us flummoxed.

Ryūto Kashima is a gloomy high-school boy who does not have many friends. As a punishment for losing a game, he is forced to confess to Runa Shirakawa, a beautiful and popular girl. Runa, being single at the time, asks him to date.
Despite having entirely different social circles and preferences, both accept each other as they are and continue to bond.
