‘Kengan Ashura’ blends the raw action of mixed-martial arts with diplomacy among those who the people fight for. In other words, the action inside the ring becomes a high-stakes match because of what happens outside the ring.
The Kengan matches are still ongoing and Ohma Tokita survived one of his hardest matches with Raian Kure in the first season. We can expect the fights to be more blood splattering and brutal as it reaches the finals this time.
On Thursday, the official website for the anime series ‘Kengan Ashura’ revealed a teaser promo for the upcoming second season. The video previews the opening theme song for the season and the official release date of September 21. Netflix will stream the second season as well.
In the teaser video, a few matches are hinted including Gizenga’s match with Jun, Takeshi’s match with Julius Reinhold, and Rei’s Match against Saw Paing. The opening song “RED” by SIM plays in the background.
‘Kengan Ashura Season 2’ will continue the second round of the Kengan Annihilation Tournament to the finals, concluding the series. It will also get an advance screening at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills, Tokyo on September 10.
Season 1 originally aired in 2019 in two parts and ran for 24 episodes. The following staff members are working on the second season with a returning cast:

Looks like we all have to refresh our memories by rewatching the first season. It won’t be a problem seeing Ohma use his Advance once again. I did want the second season to arrive a little earlier, but it is still reassuring that we will see the conclusion of the story.
