Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Release Info, Rumors, Updates

Jujutsu Kaisen is a Winter 2021 anime series that started airing in October 2020. Season 1 just concluded its run this March, flashing a “to be continued” after the finale. Needless to say, this wasn’t the last time we encountered Itadori and his friends!

The Shonen title with weekly monster fights, magic ninja school, and pretty action animation quickly became a fan-favorite!

The story of Jujutsu Kaisen revolves around Yuuji Itadori. Yuuji is a teenager with strong ideals, a stubborn grandfather, and tons of mishaps that fill his entire being.

Still, he manages to maintain a positive outlook in life. Yuuji also has exceptional physical strength that makes him stronger than an average human.

One day, while witnessing a supernatural fight, Yuuji swallows an extremely cursed object: ex Jujutsu sorcerer, current demon lord, Sukuna’s finger.

As disgusting as that sounds, Yuuji surprisingly becomes a vessel of the demon and embarks on a journey to fully become Sukuna’s vessel by consuming all of his 20 fingers while smashing some S-level curses along the way.

Jujutsu Kaisen is on its way to becoming a modern big-league anime! If you love all things Shonen, be sure to not miss out on JJK!

1. Release Date

Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen has not been announced yet. However, a film will be releasing this winter in Japan! Season 2 could make a comeback as early as Summer 2022.

One possible reason as to why we’re getting a movie instead of a complete season might be due to the lack of enough original source for Season 2.

“Movie version #JujutsuKaisen 0” will be released to theaters this winter!

Exclusive visuals by original author #GegeAkutami are also lifted at the same time in the trailer!

There are only 10 complete arcs, out of which 7 have been adapted as of now. If Season 2 ran for 24 episodes like season 1, it would adapt 6-7 arcs depending on each arc’s length.

To keep the flame of Jujutsu Kaisen’s hype burning, creators have chosen to adapt Jujutsu Kaisen 0, a manga serving as a prequel to the main plot.

The Jujutsu Kaisen movie would be a blockbuster hit, similar to the Demon Slayer movie, and a source of extra bucks for MAPPA. The original manga would also receive some time to churn out new chapters for a second season’s adaptation.

2. What To Expect From Season 2

Season 1 covered 64 chapters or 7 arcs from the manga. Season 2 would continue with chapter 65 and would start with Gojo’s Past Arc.

We will get a glimpse at the mysterious past of Gojo Satoru! The infamous Shibuya plan that was hinted at throughout part 2 of the first season will also set in motion.

Along with these explosive events, Itadori would also face the threat of extermination, possibly due to the over-consumption of Sukuna’s cursed fingers.
