Chapter 220 of Jujutsu Kaisen was one of the exciting chapters to release recently, as hints of Gojo’s return are finally made. With the first page of the chapter being a panel of the Prison Realm and the determination of the rest of the sorcerers, enough clues are made to establish his return.
This chapter also revealed that Hana/Angel survived, and Yuji is focused more than ever on saving Megumi from Sukuna. Here are the latest updates.
1. Chapter 221 Raw Scans, Leaks
The raw scans and spoilers for chapter 221 of have been released. Chapter 221 is titled “Gain and Loss.”
The chapter begins with Yuji and Takaba preparing to unseal Gojo, and Hana asks if they will unseal him in the building. Taka ba thinks that it will be dull to welcome someone like this, so he wants to decorate the place with origami. It is a really cute scene since such a tough-looking guy knows how to do delicate things like origami.
Angel explains that physical time doesn’t matter in the Prison Realm. It might have been 19 days or 100 years for Gojo. Angel is worried about Gojo’s mental state because of it. Shoko says that it will be really dangerous to unseal Gojo in a building like this. Yuji, Hakari & Kirara imagine Gojo going berserk and claim that it might indeed be too dangerous.
After much speculation, they build a barricade as if they are blowing up a stick of dynamite. On Inumaki’s cur, Hana activates Angel’s CT, and Jacob’s Ladder is activated on Gojo’s Prison Realm. Yuji approaches the scene gently but realizes that everything has vanished.
Hana tries to explain that it isn’t her fault and that Gojo might have turned evil, which is why her Light CT could’ve made him disappear. However, they suddenly feel a quake. Kenjaku can be seen explaining that he put Prison Realm 8000 meters deep in a trench just in case Gojo gets unsealed.
The very next page shows Satoru Gojo in all his blonde hair and blue-eyed glory. The full-page spread shows Gojo directly facing Kenjaku.
Kenjaku tries to agitate Gojo, but he tells Kenjaku that he should be choosing his words carefully since it is his final moment. Before they can start fighting, they are interrupted by Sukuna.
Gojo claims: “You’ve changed from a while ago, Megumi” Sukuna says that he will kill Gojo after taking over the brat’s body, but Gojo mocks him saying “The guy who ran away from Yuji is taking a defiant attitude, how pitiful.”
They then decide that they will fight on the 24th of the month, which is just 4 days after the present date, that is 19th.
2. Chapter 221 Speculation
I. Gojo’s return
The first page of the chapter includes a panel of the Prison Realm, where Gojo is currently sealed. It has been long since the series addressed his status, and this reference prompts his eventual return to the story. Shoko also wishes for his return, as he is essential in defeating Sukuna and stopping Kenjaku.
II. Megumi’s Fate
Megumi awakens in a dark, hollow place for the first time since Sukuna took over his body at the end of Chapter 220. Tsumiki’s murder by his own hands was the catalyst for Megumi’s mental stability to fall. There is a chance Sukuna might want to return to his original form, which puts Megumi’s life at risk.
III. Itadori’s mission
Itadori is determined to save Megumi and strengthen to kill Sukuna. In the upcoming chapters, Yuji, Shoko, Yuta, Maki, Inumaki, Panda, and Hana will begin their plan to take Sukuna down and save him from Megumi.

5. Chapter 220 Recap
The prison realm is shown in the first panel. Kenjaku aims to implement additional rules. He establishes a rule that prohibits any new players from entering the Game. Kenjaku explains that Tengen built many Pure barriers in Japan that are stronger than Regular barriers. The Game cannot continue if any of these four barriers are destroyed.
According to Kenjaku, the Culling Game lacks a Game Master. If there had been one, it would have been Tengen. He summons Tengen. In any case, Kenjaku can destroy the barrier, destabilizing and effectively terminating the Culling Game.
As a result, Kenjaku causes a glitch. Kogane’s goal is to maintain the Culling Game running at all costs. When faced with two options that both lead to the game’s ultimate end, Kogane will choose the one that extends its existence, which in this case, is enforcing Kenjaku’s rule.
Similarly, Kenjaku pushes Kogane to write a new rule stating that the Cullong Game will end when all players except Suguru Geto and Megumi Fushiguro die.
At Tokyo Jujutsu High, a group of students and allies gathered. It is revealed that Amai, with the help of Takaba, saved Kursusu from the fall. While Shoko has healed Kurusu with Reversed Cursed Technique, she cannot fight, prompting Yuta to inquire whether Angel may transfer herself to someone else.
Angel responds that many ancient sorcerers accepted Kenjaku’s proposal because they couldn’t figure out how to become Cursed Objects or inhabit humans. Because Sukuna has previously divided his soul into sections, Sukuna can transfer ownership that others cannot. Hence Angel can only release Gojo now. Yuji is now a Cursed Object soaked with Sukuna’s Cursed Energy, according to Shoko.
Yuji intends to utilize it to defeat Sukuna, even if it means eating more items to develop power. Choso gives him Yuki’s soul research and informs him that his brothers will live on within Yuji.
Yuji and Yuta have ideas to help Megumi, but Maki reminds them that they must make Sukuna immobile. Shoko recalls Gojo’s intention to form a group of strong individuals and that, while she was not in love with either Gojo or Geto, she had always been a friend to both, so Gojo was never truly alone.
